Congratulations to the winners
of the 2010 New North Student Photography Contest.

New North is a nonprofit organization that strives to harness and promote the region's resources, talent and creativity in an 18 county region of Northeast Wisconsin. To connect this message with the bright, young minds of students within the region, New North hosted a photography contest for students to showcase their talent. Students were invited to submit up to five photographs in each category that best represented the New North’s six key initiatives.

Over 743 students participated, representing 15 schools in the New North region, and submitted over 774 photos. Many of the students impressively captured New North’s message through photos of places, people and events around Northeast Wisconsin.

First place category winners were chosen by online votes from their peers for each of the six New North initiatives. Each first place winner received $200 and was automatically entered as a finalist for the $3000 grand prize scholarship. The grand prize winner was chosen based not only on their ability to capture the essence of the New North in their photo, but also on overall creativity, quality and composition of the photograph.
